Statue of Liberty for how many months who could or can tell. It took our convoy about 10 days to cross. It sure was a rough trip but I didn't get sick. We arrived in in [sic] the United Kingdom and docked at Gurock [sic] the Port of Glasgow. We came over in a British boat and the chow was lousy. I was sure glad to see the Red Cross doughnut wagon on the dock.
I travelled from Glasgow to Manchester England and delivered the men we brought across. My next stop was Stone Eng. From Stone I went to Trowbridge near Bath. Bath was a pretty good town and I had my first close up of the bomb damage. I was sure suprised at it all. From Trowbridge I was sent with a few other officers to open up a new camp near Sheffield. We arrived as the Limeys were moving out.
