Dear Mom and Dad,

Well, today is Sunday. I'm going back to the radio section today to work on the "CW" truck again. It's 1:40 a.m. I'll leave about 8 o'clock. I'm kind of glad because its so lonely up here. Writing letters is the only good pastime, I'm tired of reading these magazines. It will give me a chance to mail my letters also, and if I'm not needed right away!, I may get a chance to go to church.

Have you still got those photographs of myself that I brought home? I need about 5 of them. Please send them. Thank you.

Payday is only a few days away, only I doubt if my pay records have caught up with me so I'll probably have to wait until March 31. It doesn't bother me. I've only spent about 50 cents since I've been here.

I hope they've got a good meal back there, I'm getting tired of eating out of cans. The canned goods are alright but they're not the same.

The only thing I accomplished yesterday was that I fired a 45(cal.). I'm going to buy a good pistol one of these days if I can get one cheap enough. I may not always have it as good as I have it now. I may want a weapon on me when I crawl in my "fart sack" (sleeping bag).

They say we had 43 new men in the battery yesterday. I'm anxious to see if I know any of them. We're the first replacement. They've had here in quite a while. They're so short of men that some have 42 points before they rotate home. If a man has no replacement he can't leave unless his army time expires. So even if I don't have a replacement when my time comes at least I know I'll leave on May '54 any way. It takes 45 days to get home and process out of the army. But then that's a long way off.

Well, I'm all written out. I'll write again as soon as possible.
