Service History Note
Veteran's plane crashed in Yugoslavia, over the Julian Alps. He was captured, and held at Stalag Luft XIII D in Nuremberg. Aafter a forced march, he was liberated from a POW camp in Moosberg, Germany by Patton's 3rd Army. Veteran returned to Slovenia in 1974, and found the locals who had rescued some of his fellow crew members.
