The veteran piloted a Bell UH-1 "Huey" Helicopter in the 5/14/1967 rescue mission at Cau Song Be, Vietnam on the last day of Operation Junction City. The veteran first enlisted, achieving the rank of Sergeant, then went into the Warrant Officer program, achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Two (CW2), and lastly rose to the officer rank of Major.
