Wielding pen, ink, and paper, Lieutenant Frank Jay Moore, Jr., documented his service with the 96th Infantry Division in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Though his subject and style varied from drawing to drawing--he sketched landscapes and political cartoons, sometimes using distinctive pencil shading and other times a spare pen-and-ink aesthetic--most of his pieces illustrate the personal costs and effects of war. Moore's service is also presented in the nearly 100 photographs in his collection, which provide additional details about his experiences in Asia.
