History Research Paper Outline

The following pattern should be followed in developing the outline for your Grandparent/Elder Project History Research Paper:

A. The Introduction explains the relationship between your grandparent and the topic of your research. The introduction explains or answers at least one of the following questions:

1. Who is your grandparent or elder?

2. What period of his/her life are you researching?

3. How did history influence your grandparent's life--the decisions s/he made, the experiences s/he had, the relationships s/he formed with people, etc.? How and what did your grandparent contribute to history? What actions and events did s/he participate in making history?

B. The Overview lists or explains the general information about the historical event issue, person, and/or period researched.

C. Thesis Statement.
