American Memory
You may also wish to assign students to search the American Memory collections
for additional primary source materials (pictures, maps, films, documents,
etc.) about family life in the Great Depression.
1. Demonstrate how to use the Time pathfinder
on the Learning Page to access collections of
primary sources by decade.
- Go to the Getting
Started section of the Learning Page.
- You will notice that searching is available
by Time, People, Events, Places, and Topics.
- Click on Time.
2. Instruct students to select the Historical
Era, The Great Depression and World War II - 1929-1945. This presents
the list of the American Memory collections of primary source materials
related to the years 1930-1939.
3. Students search the American
Memory collections for additional primary source materials (pictures,
maps, films, documents, etc.) about family life in the Great Depression.
