<p><hi rend="bold">IN CONGRESS,</hi> <lb><hi rend="bold">MARCH 25, 1777.</hi></p>
<p><hi rend="bold">WHEREAS</hi> by a Resolve of Congress of the 3d of October, 1776, the Commissioners of the Loan-Offices were directed to transmit to the Continental Treasurer once a month an account of the Cash in their respective Offices, and to answer all draughts of the Treasurer to the amount of the Cash which they shall have in their hands as aforesaid.  And the place where the Treasurer is directed to reside being distant from Congress, renders it necessary to alter the mode of conducting the business of the said Offices.</p>
<p><hi rend="bold">RESOLVED,</hi> That the several Commissioners of the Loan-Offices hereafter make monthly returns to the Board of Treasury, of the Cash in their respective Offices, and that the same be draughted by Warrants from the President only, which previous to their being paid, shall be entered at the Treasury Office, and the entry certified on the Warrant by one of the Commissioners of the Treasury, the Auditor General, or one of his Assistants or Clerks.</p>

<p>TREASURY-OFFICE, <hi rend="italics">Philadelphia, March</hi> 25, 1777.</p>
<p><hi rend="bold">SIR,</hi> <lb><hi rend="bold">IN</hi> consequence of the above Resolution, I am to inform you it is the desire of the Board of Treasury, that you forthwith transmit them the state of your accounts, mentioning the amount of the Certificates received, the sums obtained on loan, and monies paid; and in future conform to the Resolve aforesaid. I am, Sir, your obedient humble servant,
