<p>Emancipation.</p>

<p>In this land of the free, not a slave shall there be <lb>
As a cause for rebellion or treason <lb>
Each fetter and chain in the sod shall be lain <lb>
For this, if for no other reason.</p>

<p>Chorus: <lb>
As brothers all, then follow the call, <lb>
For Freedom and Emancipation; <lb>
A man is a man, deny it who can, <lb>
It shall be so at least in this nation.</p>

<p>Oh, who is so vile as to linger and smile <lb>
When a man to the slave pen is driven, <lb>
And sold like a beast, his poor body at least, <lb>
Tho&apos; his soul may be ransomed in Heaven.</p>

<p>With the blood of the slain, we will wipe out the stain <lb>
Which forced men to blush for this nation <lb>
That bartered and sold men and women for gold <lb>
Who oft were of kindred relation.</p>

<p>A white slave or black, is a man for all that, <lb>
Tho&apos; the law may deny him his station, <lb>
The birthright of all is to join in the call <lb>
For God and for Emancipation.</p>

<p>We offer the hand to all in this land <lb>
Who are fighting for our preservation, <lb>
Upholding just laws and Freedoms&apos; great cause <lb>
And the Union of all this great nation.</p>

<p>The nation shall grow and to other lands show, <lb>
This Republic is firm in foundation, <lb>
And Despots shall feel that republican steel, <lb>
Is sharp in defence of this nation.</p>

<p>This land of the free still a refuge shall be <lb>
For all the oppress&apos;d who are driven <lb>
To exile from home, to as many as come, <lb>
To each an asylum is given.</p>

<p>Then join in the cry &apos;till it reaches the sky, <lb>
And there is recorded forever, <lb>
There&apos;ll not be a slave, in this &ldquo;home of the brave&rdquo; <lb>
If there is, we his fetters will sever.</p>
