<p>A National Hymn.</p>

<p>Almighty Father, Sov&apos;reign Lord, <lb>
Before Thy throne we stand, <lb>
And now invoke with one accord, <lb>
A blessing on our land. <lb>
In Freedom&apos;s cause our sires have bled, <lb>
And Freedom&apos;s vict&apos;ry won; <lb>
To glorious triumph they were led <lb>
By our great Washington.</p>

<p>&apos;Twas Thou who nerved them for the fight, <lb>
For O, the cause was thine! <lb>
Thou art the source of all that&apos;s right, <lb>
And Freedom is Divine. <lb>
It only could proceed from Thee, <lb>
The Great, the Good, the Wise, <lb>
Thou God, omnipotent and free, <lb>
Who reign&apos;st o&apos;er earth and skies.</p>

<p>Since Thou to us this blessing lent, <lb>
Beneath it we have grown <lb>
In wealth, and power, and vast extent <lb>
The Western World our own. <lb>
And nations wonder when they hear <lb>
How mighty we became; <lb>
But Lord, we give with heart sincere, <lb>
The Glory to Thy Name.</p>

<p>Yes ev&apos;rywhere, on land and sea, <lb>
Our Banner is unfurled, <lb>
A glorious sign of Liberty, <lb>
To cheer a down- trod world. <lb>
Oh! may its Stars shine out before <lb>
The nations of the earth, <lb>
Directing millions to the shore <lb>
Reserved for Freedom&apos;s birth.</p>

<p>In vain do wicked men unite <lb>
&apos;Gainst Freedom&apos;s heav&apos;n-born laws; <lb>
The God of battles in His might <lb>
Shall still maintain His cause. <lb>
Our fathers in His name stood forth, <lb>
And we shall firmly stand; <lb>
Our Flag shall wave from South to North, <lb>
O&apos;er a united land.</p>

<p>And ever down the ages hence, <lb>
Christ&apos;s Banner shall with ours <lb>
Remain our ensign of defence, <lb>
Against all hostile powers. <lb>
The Bible shall be open kept, <lb>
That every one may read, <lb>
Till error from the land is swept, <lb>
And we are &ldquo;free indeed.&rdquo;</p>
