<p>The answer of William B. Doolittle to the Petition for Partition of Benjamin S. Prettyman, exhibited in the circuit court of Tazewell county, for the partition of Lot 12 in Block 37 in the city of Pekin</p>

<p>This respondent, saving, reserving etc. for answer says he believes the allegations of the Petition are substantially <omit reason="illegible" extent="1 word"> , and that he has no objection to the Partition, or sale of said lot 12, as payed for, except that one Ephraim L. Doolittle, of whose estate respondent is administrator, died seized of said lot; that then is still due from said estate to the creditors thereof a sum of from three hundred to five hundred dollars, for the payment of which there is not means except the real estate of said deceased; that said lot, together with some other real estate, is back for the payment of the indebtedness of said deceased, and is necessary for that object; and that respondent, administrator as aforesaid, has more pending in the circuit court aforesaid to subject said lot to sale for the object aforesaid &mdash; And now having fully answered , he prays to be hence discharged
