<p>Know all men by these present that we George England and Joseph England, of the County of Menard and State of Illinois  are held and firmly bound unto Henry Clark, in the penal sum of one hundred dollars, for the payment of which well and  truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators, <omit reason="illegible" extent="1 word"> severally and firmly by these presents&mdash;</p>

<p>Witness our hands and seals this 31st day <lb>
of July A.D. 1841.</p>

<p>The condition of the above obligation in such, that whereas the said Henry Clark did at the June term of the Circuit Court of Menard County, in the year aforesaid, recover a judgement [sic] against the above <omit reason="illegible" extent="1 word"> George England for the cost of a certain action of <omit reason="illegible" extent="1 word">  <omit reason="illegible" extent="1 word"> pending in said court, wherein said George England was plaintiff, and said Clark was defendant, <del rend="overstrike"><add place="intralinear">upon</add></del> which said judgement [sic]  a writ of Error and supersedes have been allowed by the Supreme Court of the State aforesaid, to issue upon the filing of this bond with the clerk of the said Supreme Court&mdash; Now if the said England shall duly prosecute his said writ of Error, and shall moreover pay the  amount of the judgement [sic], cost, damages and interest rendered and to be rendered against him in case the said judgement [sic] shall be affirmed in said Supreme Court, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue&mdash;
