<p>November Term AD 1857 <lb>
The People  In Debt <lb>
vs. <lb>
William S Harmon</p>

<p>On this day came the People by the Prosecuting attorney and the Defendant by his attorney and the Defendant and files his demurrer to Plaintiffs Declaration and the same having been argued to the court was taken under advisement until the next Term of this court</p>

William J. Bennett &amp; <lb>
Benjamin F. Maupin</p>

<p>This day came the parties, and on motion of the complainant, this cause is continued to the next term of this Court&mdash; And by consent of the parties, the complainant is allowed to amend his Bill, on or before the first day of March next, in such manner only, as shall not change the defendants line of defense, or operate to exchange any depositions now on file, and said amendment, in all events, to be in the control of the court at the next term; and that said complainant shall not hereafter, take any formal objection to any deposition now on file&mdash; It is also ordered that this continuance be at the cost of the complainant&mdash;</p>

<p>and on motion of the State Attorney this cause is continued. And the said Defendants Samuel No? and John Workman, with Samuel Nidick secure acknowledged themselves to owe and be indebted to People of the State of Illinois in the sum of fifty dollars each to be served? of their goods and chattel lands and tenements if Default be made in condition which is that they <del rend="overstrike"> <omit reason="illegible" extent="1 word"> </del> Defendants be and appear before the judge of this court a the next Term thereof to answer to and indict now pending against them in said court for riot? and not <omit reason="illegible" extent="1 word"> the court without leave. And therefore came Allman and B. Curtis witnesses on behalf of the People and acknowledged themselves to owe and be indebt to the People of the State of Illinois in the sum fifty dollars Each to be levied of them goods and chattels lands and tenements if Default be n in this condition which is that they severally <omit reason="illegible" extent="1 word"> appear before the judge of this court at the next thereof. to give evidence on behalf of the People in an indictment of the People vs Samuel Nmian and John Workman and not depart court without leave <lb>
