Mr. Underwood,

Dear Sir: -

I received word just this evening, that our next meeting will not take place until Tuesday Eve, the 25th. The gentlemen who were present at the meeting of last Thursday night, think that it is useless for us to meet to further discuss the petition, until we know whether or not our attorneys gain a supersedeas in Washington. By the 25th, we shall doubtless be

informed upon that point. If a supersedeas is gained, the matter of the petition will be dropped, of course. If the supersedeas is refused, we shall hold our meeting, and shall earnestly hope that you will be in attendance.

Thank you for your kind offers of co-operation, I am,

Very truly yours,

Nina Spies
