Two letters from the Convention of New Jersey, dated 13th and 14th Instt, being read,2

Resolved, That a Committee of three be appointed to take the same into consideration, and report an answer.
The members chosen, Mr. J[ohn] Rutledge, Mr. [John] Dickinson, and Mr. W[illiam] Livingston.
A letter from Genl Schuyler, with sundry papers enclosed, dated 5 Octr, 1775, was read and the same being taken into Consideration,3

Resolved, That the sum of 200,000 dollars be sent to the deputy pay master general for the northern army.
That the delegates of Pensylvania do immediately count and send forward the above sum under a guard.
On motion made, Resolved, That the ton of powder forwarded last week to New York, be immediately sent forward to Genl Schuyler.
On motion made, Resolved, That a Committee of five members be appointed to consider farther ways and means of promoting the manufacture of saltpetre.
The following members chosen, Mr. [Peyton] Randolph, Mr. [Henry] Wisner, Mr. [Samuel] Chase, Mr. John Rutledge, and Mr. [John] Morton.
On motion made,
Resolved, That it be earnestly recommended to all persons, who are possessed of salt petre lately removed from Turtle bay, on the Island of New York, forthwith to send the same to the President of the convention of New York, to be manufactured into Gun powder, for the use of the continental army.
On motion, Resolved, that Mr. [Peyton] Randolph and Mr. [Stephen] Hopkins be appointed to join Mr. J[ohn] Rutledge in order to wait on Mr. [John] McPherson, and confer with him on the subject contained in his letter.
Ordered, That Mr. [John] Langdon, Mr. [Eliphalet] Dyer, and Mr. J[ohn] Adams, enquire what quantity of powder has been sent to the northern army, and report by whom sent.
The order of the day renewed, and the several matters referred to this day postponed till to Morrow.
Adjourned to 9 o'Clock to Morrow.
