A motion was made by Mr. [James] Duane, seconded by Mr. [Jesse] Root,

That Baron Steuben receive, until the further order of Congress, in addition to his pay as major general, eighty dollars per month for his travelling expences in the execution of his office of inspector general, to be computed from the 10th day of January last.1
