Resolved, That a Committee be appointed to prepare a plan for an Equestrian Statue of his Excellency George Washington, Esqr. to be erected where Congress shall fix their residence.1
[Note 1: 1 This motion, in the writing of Arthur Lee, is in the Papers of the Continental Congress, No. 36, II, folio 105. According to the indorsement, and to the record in Committee Books No. 186 and No. 191, it was referred, on this day, to Mr. A[rthur] Lee, Mr. [Oliver] Ellsworth and Mr. [Thomas] Mifflin. Their report was delivered May 8, and passed August 7.]
