Journals of the Continental Congress --[WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 1783]
Ordered, That a Motion, "That the Commander in Chief be authorized to discharge such parts of the Foederal Army now in Service as Secret he shall deem proper and expedient. And that he direct Secret that necessary Cloathing be immediately provided for those that may be longer retained in Service," be referred to the Commander in Chief to take Order.2

It is recorded in Papers of the Continental Congress, Committee Book No. 181, folio 126, where it is called the "motion of Mr. S. Huntington."]
