- The sixth work from De Mes Amis, Les Animaux, our friend the sea urchin recalls time past. Of what and where and why, we don’t really know, only that from the sea floor, his thoughts are inward, deep, and perhaps a bit sad. This is a study in slowly shifting hand position, quasi canon, and two against three. Pedal technique is explored as deep tones sustain beneath the thoughts of our melancholy friend, who also and often requires una corda to tinge his more emotional memories.
