| 520 | __ $a "Overast" was originally written as part of a three-movement work for solo trombone and piano. When I was composing the original work, I wanted to create an additional arrangement of the 3rd movement (Drizzle) for concert band. The work is inspired by the brief period of my life when I lived abroad in England. As many people are aware, it rains constantly in Great Britain, thus making it an easy inspiration for music. Even though I consider this work somewhat melancholic, it is meant to also reflect the warmth and comfort I felt while living in the country where I met so many wonderful people. Other inspiration for this movement came from Ralph Vaughan William's "Pastoral Symphony," most notably, the 4th movement. Grade 4. Duration: 5:50. -- |
