<mods:abstract>Bordman writes: A colored musical revue in two acts (18 scenes). Music and lyrics by J. Russell Robinson, Roy Turk, (Irving Berlin, Joe Young, Sam Lewis, George Meyer, Harry Akst). Settings designed by Lew Leslie. Entire production conceived and directed by Lew Leslie. Opened 17 July 1922 at the 48th Street Theatre and closed 12 August 1922 after 33 performances.

The revue billed as a "Colored Chauve Souris" (The Chauve Souris was then a hit on Broadway) starring Florence Mills, and Ulysses S. (Lucky) Thompson, with Will Vodery's pit band Plantation Orchestra, (that featured cornetist Johnny Dunn, who danced as he played) featured the best acts from Leslie's Plantation Club (a restaurant over the Winter Garden Theatre) with Shelton Brooks as Master of Ceremonies. Plantation Quartette and Six Dixie Vamps were unidentified in the programs.

The evening opened with a plantation setting with Thompson as Ham from Birmingham and Keane as Sam from Alabama presented musical numbers that were accompanied with buck and wing, tap routines, and cakewalks. Mills sang "That Kind of Man" and "Some Sunny Day" (music and lyrics by Irving Berlin); Thompson and Lew Keane danced a soft-shoe to "Swanee River" (Act II Scene 3), "A Southern Hobby", and did their own specialties. The team of Kelly and (Aaron) Palmer worked up a class act--with top hat and tails as in the manner of Greenlee and Drayton--to which Palmer added spins and pivots and Kelly added Russian and acrobatics. (Norton 1922.25).
