A documentary by David Wadsworth on the life and career of tap dancer/teacher Leon Collins, who died in 1985, illustrated by dance footage recorded since his return to teaching and dancing during the tap dance revival of the 1970s. His early career, including his partnership with Buddy Lee, is traced in still photographs. He is seen teaching in his own studios and working with pianist Joan Hill, who developed a system of notating his dances. Commentaries are provided by his protegés Clara "CB" Hetherington, Pamela Raff, and Dianne Walker, and by Jane Goldberg, Iris Fanger, Brenda Bufalino, Dizzy Gillespie, and others.
