Copasetic: The Word Social Event 1936 Story has it that when Bill Robinson proposed to Fanny Clay, he asked her if she could cook. When she said she could, his reply was, "Baby, it's all copasetic." This word was Robinson's own coinage and eventually found its way into the dictionary, first appearing in 1936.
