Monterey Jazz Festival 1965 Briggs, Bunny performer Festival 1965-09-18 Festival Grounds Held over the weekend of September 17, 1965, Ellington, fresh from the premiere of his Concert of Sacred Music at the Grace Cathedral in San Francisco (9/16/1965), played upward of twenty tunes, which were climaxed by a repeat of Bunny Briggs' "David Danced Before the Lord With All His Might" and by "The Applejack" in which Briggs both tap-danced and went through a series of feints and slides and bobbings designed to match visually the sounds behind him.
