While Ruth and Louise Edwards never attained the star status in their profession as a song-and-dance act of the 1940s, they made a substantial career as a touring attraction with various big bands and stage revues in the thirties and forties. Tunes included "Take the A-Train" "Suddenly It Jumped" "Turquoise Cloud" "Dancers in Love" "Knock Me a Kiss" and "Frankie and Johnny." The film also included the Delta Rhythm Boys, considered one of the best of 1940s black vocal groups distinguished for being well-mannered, handsome, and equally at home in ballad singing and up-tempo swing numbers.
