<mods:abstract>Willie Bryant and Band: broadcast over WEAF, New York
    Performers: Willie Bryant
    Premier date: January 1, 1935
Narrative: Review, Pittsburgh Courier: "Willie Bryant, the new "Kingfish" race of bandleaders, scored another personality hit on New Year's Day when he took over his own vocalizing on his WEAF broadcast at Radio City. At first, Willie's entourage included a soloist, a little lady with a voice that rolled out the notes in perfect unison with the maestro's torrid rhythm. But on the second go-round, biding New Year's Day, Willie made a new resolution—resolved to try using his own voice."
