Senator Belgrave (Jerry Cohan), an Anglophile and boastfully contemptuous of his country, is determined that his son (George M.) will marry Lord Rothburt's languid arrogant daughter, Evelyn. But George loves Dolly Johnson (Ethel Levey), the niece of the straightforward Senator Hopkins. The hit of this Cohan show was "You're a Grand Old Flag." Dolly was given the show stopping song and dance, "I Was Born in Virginia."
