<mods:abstract>The Ziegfeld musical revue in two acts, 13 scenes. Principals directed by Herbert Gresham. chorus directed by Julian Michell; doll numbers and others arranged by Joseph C. Smith; drummer girls instructed by John O'Neill. Opened 8 July 1907 at the Jardin de Paris (atop the New York and Criterion Theatres), moved 26 August 1907 to the Liberty Theatre and closed 7 September 1907 after 70 performances.

The first of Ziegfeld's Follies that would soon include the name of its creator, Florenz Ziegfeld, in the title. For a quarter of a century it would be the resplendent jewel of the musical theater scene with a chorus "glorifying the American girl." Featured fifty lovely chorines, the first in the long parade of breathtaking beauties, billed as "Anna Held Girls." (Norton 1907.24).</mods:abstract>
