    A two-week 20th anniversary season

with Nicole Aravena, Betina Hershey, Tonya Kay, Yako Miyamoto, Misty Owens, Peggy Spina, Sherry Stregack

The Joel Forrester Quartet: Forrester, piano; Ronnie Williams, drums; Dave Hofstra, bass; Philip Johnston, sax.

"Peggy Spina is the Brenda Blethyn of tap. Like the English character actress, Ms. Spina is a deceptively nondescript performer who steals the show."

    Two company signature pieces:
"Laura" chor. by Buster Brown, a "Propulsive yet easy going tap for a line of six dancers who maintained perfect synchronism through the surge of hard, fast accelerating beats and well-placed claps, shouts and fleeting pauses."

"Stop the Music" "exciting for the tightness of the taps and the relentless locomotive surge of Ms. Spina's choreography and Mr Forrester's score as dancers pass one another continuously in cross-stage sideways travel."

    "Waltz"
"She Do" a solo for Spina contrasts her easy upper body with the clear articulation of complex rhythms and smoothly changing configurations that are the hallmark of the company style."
