New Jersey Tap Ensemble founded Mitchell, Deborah performer Concert 1995-01 Merkin Concert Hall Founded January 1995 by Deborah Mitchell and comprised of tap dancers who "possess a passion for the art of tap and have the capacity to execute, produce, and associate rhythmic patterns and phrases that range from the most basic to the most intricate." The dancers are all residents of the state of New Jersey; are multi-ethnic and from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds. The Ensemble consists of a two companies: The first company a repertory ensemble; the second company, the apprenticeship program of younger dancers. The 1995 first company comprised the following dancers: Denise Alexander, Karen Callaway, Justine Campanaro, Dan Clemente, Nicholas DiNicolangelo, Elizabeth Glover, Jason Janas, Jan Johnson, Tamisha Johnson, Pamela Licht, Parris Mann, Mike Minery, Amanda Piserchio, Kelly Mott-Sacks, and Dana Van Pell. The second company: Laura Cates, Kristen Chavis, Maurice Chestnut, Jennifer Intravartolo, Monet Kornegay, Niccole Odato, Kenya Ramey, Katrina Richter, and Danielle Robinson.
