- Abstract
- The opening number by the June Taylor Dancers show them to have developed in this year as a well-trained precision line: clean formations: and Taylor has emerged as a television choreographer who knows how to make geometric lines for the camera:
four vertical lines with the camera taking shots from above a la Busby Berkeley;
they always wear costumes fashioned as bathing suits; lotsa lega; high-heeled tappers; ballet tap; kazotsky kicks one leg cross; kick lines are an excellent precision.
Next, Gleason and guest star Milton Berle comment on current fashion trends.
Next, Gene Kelly performs "Shall We Dance" with the June Taylor Dancers: he does a polka with then; 1, 2, and six more; the camera moves to capture him; no taps from the chorus; a kick line ending with an assembling of bodies to frame Kelly, making for a beautiful picture. - Source
