Clark Center Dance Festival: Loretta Abbot and Al Perryman Perryman, Al performer Festival 1977-07-15 33 West 42nd Street mall of the City University of Graduate Center The weekend's entry in the continuing Clark Center Festival running most of the summer in the covered mall of the City University Graduate Center: by director/dancers Loretta Abbott and Al Perryman: the program opened with a satire on an exhibition dance team and led into two solos performed with depth and nuance by Mr. Perryman under the heading "Insights." "Savoy" choreographed to silence, began deceptively as a tap dance but evolved into a commentary upon a kind of tap dancer. The movement became more lyrical in its turns and skips, and the psychological deterioration by a partial strip-tease by Mr. Perryman as he danced; "Bojangles" by Shawneequa Baker-Scott and danced to Sammy Davis Jr.'s recording of the same title, was a similar, even more sharply drawn portrait.
