Black Patti Troubadours Black Patti Troubadours performer Theatrical Performance 1895 Organized by white managers in 1895, Black Patti Troubadours offered a departure from the usual minstrel format. The show was divided into three parts: the first closed with a buck-dancing contest; the second was an olio, or series of specialties, ending with a cakewalk; and the third, billed as an "Operatic Kaleidoscope" presented Black Patti accompanied by an entire cast singing selections from various operas. The show toured the South for seven years. In 1898, when she was fifteen, Ida Forsyne joined Black Patti Troubadours.
