- Composer, pianist and educator Louise Talma taught music at Hunter College in Manhattan for over 50 years. She had close ties with the American Conservatory at Fontainebleau near Paris where she worked for many years with Nadia Boulanger, first as a student and then as a colleague. Talma was the first American Boulanger invited to teach with her at Fontainebleau. She also spent many summers at the MacDowell Colony in Peterborough, New Hampshire. The collection consists mostly of her scores (sketches, manuscripts and some published pieces), correspondence, programs, clippings and photographs.

- 471 scores (323 by Talma, 148 by other composers), ca. 5000 letters, 2000 programs, 1500 clippings and 2000 photographs.
