- Abstract
- Rudolf Kolisch (1896-1978) was among the first champions of the music of Arnold Schoenberg, Alban Berg and Anton Webern. A talented violinist, Kolisch (brother of Schoenberg's wife) formed the Kolisch Quartet, the ensemble that premiered many of their works. This collection contains correspondence from the three composers to Kolisch. Also of importance among these papers is a musical analysis by Berg of his Lyric Suite, one of the compositions the quartet premiered.
