Solano Avenue Stroll

San Francisco East Bay's largest and oldest free street fair. Features 200 participating merchants, 160 community groups, 100 parade entries, 80 craft booths, over 100 entertaining groups representing various countries, and 65 ethnic food booths. Spanning two California cities, Berkeley and Albany, the Stroll began as a sidewalk sale in 1974. Expanding in 1981, it added eight more blocks and a parade with a yearly theme. Over 150 non-profits use the Stroll to raise public awareness. A high school class reunion atmosphere prevails. Project includes text, news clippings, 28 8 x 10 color photos, program guides, and 12 posters.
