The Blessing of the Fleet

A celebration of the traditions of the fishing community of southeastern Connecticut, this event includes a solemn religious observance in remembrance of fisherman lost at sea. "The Blessing" also offers a prayer for the safety and prosperity of current fishermen. It has been held annually in Stonington for 45 years.
