Saint Patrick's Day Parade (New Haven)

Started by Irish immigrants in the 1840's, it is the sixth oldest Saint Patrick's Day parade in the country.

Documentation includes a history of the parade and how the local and surrounding communities are involved; a video featuring people reminiscing about earlier parades; the book The Wearin' o' the Green : St. Patrick's Day in New Haven, Connecticut, 1842-1992; photographs; newspaper clippings; parade flyers and program; and radio interviews (sound recording on cassette tape).

Originally submitted by: Rosa L. DeLauro, Representative (3rd District).
