Dear Mom and Dad,

I'm not doing much yet, but I am feeling pretty good. I lost my pencil and it's hard to write with this one. The PX doesn't have any pens or pencils.

The General, O'Meare, I think, talked to us day before yesterday. My mail hasn't caught up yet.

Today is Sunday but it is just another day. I was on duty this morning so I didn't go to church.

Yesterday was payday but I didn't get paid. I won't get paid until next month.

The weather is still good. Good for working, that is. The roads are getting muddy. They're tough when they're hard. I'm afraid to imagine them during the rainy season.

Keep writing. They're are bound to catch up some time. Then I'll have something to write about.

Your Son
