Dear Mom and Dad,
I was too busy to write yesterday. I got up at 2 a.m. and went on CW watch until 6. After that the battalion had a test problem to run. That took all day and part of the night. After that I went on CW watch again, but then I was too tired to do anything. While I was going through those hills with a radio on my back some of the mud was almost up to my knees. Yesterday it was raining, today (so far) the sun is out. The trouble with the temperature is that if you stand still, you're cold, if you work you sweat.
There was no mail yesterday or this morning. I'm hoping for some tonight. I'll continue this letter later. You see, when I start a letter than (sic) no matter how tired I am , I'll finish it. I'm on guard duty tonight.
Love
Eddie
