April 1, l953

Dear Mom and Dad,

We moved. We're near "Alligator Jaws". We have 5 O.P.s to take care of. I got paid $204. I also made Private First Class. None of my buddies did. I think its because I'm in a new section . We have a different lieutenant in charge and he's not afraid to put his men in for advancement.

We"re in a tent tonight. In a few days, we'll move into a bunker. We have to wait until the present liaison team moves out. To eat, we have to go about 4 miles. We use the jeep. We're on line now so if we stay here 15 day in April, I'll get 4 points for that month. I feel we'll stay up here for at least 60 days.

We really are up high, at least 1500 to 2000 feet. I think we're near "T-bone" but I'm not sure right now.

I'm really tired so I think I'll hit the sack early. It's 9 p.m.

Up here we wear bullet-proof vests. They are heavy, but I hear that they're worth wearing so I have mine on.

I had a chance to buy some stationery today, but they have it rationed so I don't know how long it will last.

Oh yes, we're not attached to the 32 nd Infantry, now we're with the 17 th Infantry.

I received a letter from you and part of one from Bob- tell him thanks and to write more. I'll write him soon. Most of the questions in your letter I answered a few letters ago. Be good.
