Dear Mom and Dad,
It's about 1 a.m. now. I'm at the switchboard. I'll be here until about 7 o'clock. We haven't had too much trouble with our lines. I just got up so I'm still sleepy.
Yesterday I went to the rear and took a shower and got a haircut. I still haven't sent home the money orders. To send more that $50 I have to have permission from my company commander. I haven't had time to get it yet.
The weather down here is still nice.
I received our letter of March 30, also a letter from Loretta.
From the looks of the headlines you send, I should be glad I'm safe here in Korea!
Now that my income tax is paid I won't have to worry about it until 1955. I won't have to pay tax while in Korea, so I won't owe anything for 1953 since I expect to be here during that year. You shouldn't complain about tax, that's what is feeding me.
I can't think of anything else to say. Everything has been unusually quiet. (keep your fingers crossed). I'll write again as soon as possible. Is my camera on the way?
