Dear Mom and Dad,

I received Dad's letter yesterday, it was good to get a few lines from you Dad. I'll be looking forward to the Sporting News. According the radio the Sox have a 3-2 record as of today. Not bad. If they don't have too many postponed games I think they'll go far. But if they have to play too many double-headers at the close of the season, they'll tire.

I also received letters from Mom.

No: I haven't received any extra mail since my picture was in the paper. I'm still receiving mail from Ray, Ted and the girl from Kansas regularly. The mail has been OK for quite a while I can't complain.

We don't have any houseboys up here anymore. We wash our own clothes. Believe me, the times we do wash are few and far between

How about sending me a pencil. I don't like to keep borrowing one. If you can, send a pen. It doesn't matter, just so I have a means of writing.

The time has been going pretty fast since I got here. Your letters make everything so much more pleasant. May God bless you for it.

I didn't mean to sound harsh when I told you about the length of time it takes to answer the questions. You just read it in the wrong tone.

I don't know whether or not I mentioned it but I received Ted's picture.

It would be alright to give Ronald some of my money for the Prom. But--I want it replaced. He should be out of school and working shortly.

I'm still asking for photographs, but this will be my last plea. The rest is up to you.

Nothing has happened here lately (Thank God). The weather is trying to change but it still is cold at night.

We've started to take pills for Malaria. We take one every Sunday. Some guys say they're bitter but I'm not bothered by the taste at all. It is something to eat.

Well, I'll sign off for now.
