Dear Mom and Dad,

I received a letter from both of you today, also one from Lois. I got those wedding pictures too. And two Baseball Digests. Thank you.

Note: The 1 st Marine Division pulled off the line about a week ago. Right now in Korea there aren't any Marines on the front lines.

You know that if you should ever need money badly, you're welcome to mine. You don't have to borrow it, I'll gladly give it to you.

When you wrote, the Sox had a 11-9 record. Now they have a 18-11. I saw in the paper where Byrne hit that bases loaded homer in the ninth to beat the Yanks! I pulled my weekly maintenance on my jeep this morning. It must be about 90 degrees today. Unless an officer wants to go somewhere, I don't have a thing to do. Pretty soft huh? Believe me; we earned this rest.

I'm in the tent. I got a little sunburn the day before yesterday so I'm trying to stay out of the sun. I want to get used to it gradually.

There's a Korean here who paints pictures. If you can send a couple of good photos, I'll try to get a couple of painted portraits. He only charges $3.00. That's all for now. General O'Meara just came in so I have to look busy.
