Dear Mom and Dad,
Well, nothing new to report. We got a new liaison officer. The one we had became the General's aide, so I guess we have to break in a new lieutenant.
The weather was fine today. I went to see my buddy from Hammond. We took some pictures. I'll send some home when they're developed. I also picked up some Hammond Times. I read them but didn't find anything interesting.
They started something new tonight. We can't go to bed or remove our clothes until after midnight. Why? Your guess is as good as mine.
Payday will be here in a couple of days. I'm going to have to save some money. I expect to go to Japan or R & R in a couple of months. I'm number 57 on the list. They take about 15 a month but a lot of guys ahead of me will rotate home.
I'm sending a clipping that I took from the Hammond Times. I'm going to see if I can find the guy. He's in the same regiment.
That's all for tonight. Till tomorrow.
Love
Eddie
