Dear Mom and Dad,

Well, it's here.

Today we tested the Truce. Myself and 9 others went in front of the M.L.R. and are putting in a barbed wire fence to separate the Communist Zone from ours.

It's very difficult work. The heat is terrific. I did get a beautiful sunburn on my shoulder though.

Pray that the cease fire will not cease.

I had guard duty last night. The Chinks stopped firing at 9:50 p. m. Ten minutes before the deadline.

I heard some rumors about a new system of points for rotation. There are several versions, both to my advantage. One system would have me leaving around Christmas. The other would have me leaving in October sometimes. Don't expect anything from there rumors but it is something to think about.

At the present time I have plenty of writing paper etc. I got it from the men rotating.

Well, I'm going to bed now. I have to get up at 5 a.m.
