Dear Mom and Dad,

Last night I received your letter of August 30.

It was really cold last night. I feel well but the food stinks. Three days straight we've had liver for dinner. I and half the battery doesn't like liver.

We've got the roof of the Quonset building on now. Slowly but surely we're getting it done. There are four Pollacks building it. There's Dziekiewicz, Malzewski, Witkowski and myself. We could do a better job if we had tools. A Quonset Hut is pretty big. It's 20 feet by 40 feet.

You don't have to worry about Don not being able to read too well. Jim Gindl can't read but he's still in the Air Force.

This Saturday we're having a Command Inspection. They can always fine a way to harass us.

You asked me if I got my $200. What $200?

I'm going to chow in a few minutes. I'll write soon.
