Dear Mom and Dad,
I just finished taking a shower. I got off guard at noon. I'm off until nine o'clock tonight. I'm feeling fine.
I received your letter of September 15.
I like the Security section. Although I don't care too much to be awakened at all hours of the day and night. The one advantage to this job is the fact the time seems to pass quickly. When I get Post #2 way out alone I'm able to read. I can hear any vehicle coming quite a ways off.
The Chicago White Sox haven't shown much in the last few weeks. I hope they can get second place from the Indians.
My buddy Al Neve came to visit me for a while today. He just came back from Japan. His Battery is about thirty five miles from here so I haven't seen him in a hell of a long time.
What question don't I answer?
Well, the news is the same. Just the time is changing, the weather the same--
Love
Eddie
