Dear Mom and Dad,
I received two letters from you and the Sporting News. One of the letters contained numerous clippings. I liked to see them.
By the looks of the papers, Calumet City isn't a safe place to live anymore. It sure makes me wonder. I can just see myself getting beat up on the first night home. HA! A person will have to be armed or travel in a gang. What the hell is happening to that town? At present, it's safer here in Korea.
The truce will still be in effect for twenty seven more days. I hope they do something quick. I hate to have to go through all the shit again.
Here it is October already. Another month shot. I still have four more months left.
Have you got the T.V. in shape? There is a 3-D movie coming out this fall about the 7 th Division. It was taken last summer on the front. They had some cameras taking pictures while I was at Mass so I'm wondering if my face is in it. Who knows?
I hope we get our winter uniforms soon. It's getting too cold to stand guard in the morning. I have to wrap myself in a blanket.
Tell Grandma Happy Birthday,
Love
Eddie
