Dear Mom and Dad,

Howdy. I got your letter of Sept. 29. It's getting cooler here every week. It won't be long before winter weather is upon us.

Something finally did happen last night. We went on a patrol last night through a village and picked up three prostitutes and two pimps. We arrested them and locked them in a wire cage that we have behind our tent for such purposes.

They were all young—about nineteen or twenty. On one of them, we found dope. We took it away and last night she must have missed it because she was vomiting and crying all night.

This morning we took them to the rear to the proper authorities.

We have inspection everyday now. I'm never the best in the section but still I'm not the worst.

As of today, October 10, I've been in Korea eight months. A long time to me.

I saw the movie "Salome" with Rita Hayworth but I didn't think it was any good.

It's chow time so I'm signing off.
